Peter Moore is an artist painting the landscape of North Wales. Peter has worked as a tutor and landscape painter since 1981 and has exhibited in local art societies and in galleries. Peter's work has been selected for the Welsh Artist of the Year exhibition in 2008, and he has exhibited in the Royal Cambrian Academy 'open' competions, and in the Oriel Ynys Mon Gallery in Llangefni, and Gallerie Betws y Coed. Peter works from sketchbook drawings of the North Wales mountains and coast and endevours to capture the sublime atmosphere that it contains. Elements of landscape are abstracted from the whole, and worked up into finished compositions.
Peter was trained in Fine Art at Newcastle Univesity and at University of Wales Cardiff, where he gained his postgraduate Art Teachers Certificate. Previously he managed an art shop in Oxford and also taught English and Art in the Sudan.
